Grief is your response to loss. This might seem a simple answer to a complex concept but you have to start somewhere. Grief is a very personal and multifaceted experience and is normally associated with the loss of a person, however, you can grieve the loss of anything that is significant to you. Grief is a journey that none of us wants to go on but one we can't avoid and it is associated with a long list of emotional and physical symptoms including shock, numbness, sadness, despair, loneliness, anger and guilt. Trying to cope with these new emotions at such a difficult time can be distressing but you don't have to do it on your own.
